Journey to the North

In the old kingdom of Balistravia,
rumors of an abnormal number of shooting stars
crashing into the earth have spread far and wide.
Those drawn to adventure have found
themselves making pilgrimage to the north,
meet with harsh and unforgiving tundra.

STORY

Whether it was your lack of gold or lust for wonder that has brought you here,
you've joined an expedition group tasked by the king to investigate the rumors of The North.
If below freezing temperatures and harsh terrain wasn't enough of a challenge,
you'll soon learn that the rumors hold more truth they you may have thought.
All you can hope is that you might make it back out of the north, and live to tell the tale.

SETTING

This RP will be set in your generic High Fantasy setting. Think Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Etc.
Power levels should be kept in check with that of a Level 10 character in those games. That is to say,
that your characters should be highly competent or skilled, but not gods. This isn't their first rodeo,
but it is the biggest challenge they have faced in their life, even if they aren't immediately aware of it.
The North is often considered to be the harshest and deadest land of all the kingdom, with regular natural
disasters and wildlife bred to be the most deadly of it's kind. Most high profile criminals and exiled to the north,
And none are ever recorded as ever having lived to tell of what it was like there. Be prepared to die.

Lygia Levera looks like the better fit, but Espera Nota doesn't really fit with the setting at all. Is that fine with you?

heh, this version of espera is a world hopper, and I'm not referring to planets, so yeah. besides, there are a few changes going to be made with the MU introduction of ragnarok to this version. He's going to arrive closer to his true form, and that is more fantasy than sci-fi, so, yeah.

I was going for a low power/low fantasy type thing. Having all these half breeds of really weird shit makes it kinda strange, is my point.

The idea that your character be part some exotic race in a common troupe. It lends it self towards more cringe worthy RP, and I haven't often seen it done tastefully.

you realize that Lygia looks like an angel with one alabaster wing and one ebony wielding a bow of light that fires arrows of blue-white flame that pierce through any defense, right? I think normal is already out the window.

the newbie already agreed to join the RP, they just have to write up their character first.

EDIT: the character is finished (in a fashion) she just has to write it in submission format and submit the registration. The character shouldn't be overpowered, and should work quite well in this setting. We should be able to start the RP in a few days at most.

I'm thinking about switching out Nameless for Sepulchre. New RP between me and CZ gives definite reason for this, and he would likely work better in this world that Nameless. Does anyone have any qualms with that?

I might actually join with Talon Erashous instead of Sanctis, possibly before he gains his highest level spells.
I remade Sanctis as a half-angel half-demon which I feel might be overpowered for this kind of story.
